The Vuvu Soccer Show
“Vuvuzela! The World Soccer Show” first aired on Sunday mornings in March of 2010 on 1490 WBCB, a small radio station in rural Bucks County. WBCB was only a 1000-watt station that barely stretched into the main Philadelphia suburbs: it was a humble start.
The “Vuvu Soccer” team comprises Eric Nash, Bob Long, Alex Chrostowski, and Matt Mannino, the owner of Villa Capri Pizzeria, a soccer pub in Doylestown, PA that brings out ardent supporters every week for English Premier League soccer, US Men’s and Women’s National team matches, MLS, and many international soccer events. It truly is a one of a kind establishment.
“Villa Capri has become our home base, and I always get excited to go do a show from Villa,” Nash said. “We’ve become like a member of the family over there, and we thank Matt for the opportunity to partner up with a team like they have at Villa.”
“Vuvu Soccer” has traveled to New York to do shows, including at the Football Factory at Legends, as well as right outside Red Bull Arena during a Sons of Ben tailgate with the Philadelphia Union traveling supporters.
The show has also expanded upon its soccer offerings at times, including a show at the 2016 Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame Dinner, conducting interviews with the likes of Charlie Manuel, Dick Weiss, Mike Missanelli, and more. More Information and Podcasts also at Bob Long Sports
